I’m Lorenzo, an Italian chef born and raised in the Alps 🇮🇹⛰️

My journey started in mountain kitchens over 12 years ago where I learned to cook traditional alpine recipes using simple ingredients from the local areas – wild herbs, garden veggies, and lots of polenta and cheese! Since then, I’ve cooked in city restaurants in Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 and in the town kitchens of the UK 🇬🇧 – always carrying a bit of the mountains with me. I am passionate about Italian food, which I make using the finest ingredients through Italian suppliers, and I adopt strictly Italian values to my cuisine whether it be pizza, pasta, gnocchi or any Italian food generally. I have been working in collaboration with SayItaliano to deliver culinary events inspired by the Italian traditions since 2025.

We visited Wild Chef Lorenzo for an Italian cooking class, and from start to finish it was the most enjoyable day filled with delicious food and a bit of education on Italian cuisine. It was incredibly fun making the pasta from scratch and then getting to sit down and enjoy it at the end (and take some extras home!).

Lorenzo’s pasta class was an enjoyable experience with a delicious end product. The simple and clear instructions made it very easy to follow the class, even for a beginner. While, his tips were valuable for the more experienced students. Finally, all ingredients used are easily accessible meaning that we could apply everything we learnt at home!
